Job Description
An Appointed Person (Onshore) is a formally designated lifting operations specialist responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising all lifting operations on onshore construction, oil & gas, or industrial project sites. This role carries significant legal and safety accountability under lifting regulations and standards.
Role and Responsibilities

Lift Planning — Prepare and approve lifting plans for routine, complex, critical, and tandem lifts.

Risk Assessment — Identify hazards, establish exclusion zones, and approve method statements.

Equipment Certification — Verify all cranes and lifting accessories are certified and within SWL limits.

Supervision — Oversee execution of lifts, conduct pre-lift toolbox talks, and authorize commencement.

Personnel Competency — Verify qualifications of crane operators, riggers, and banksmen.

Compliance — Ensure adherence to LOLER, ASME B30, BS 7121, and local regulations.

Documentation — Maintain lifting registers, permits, and inspection records.

Stop Work Authority — Halt any unsafe lifting operation immediately.
