Job Description
An Appointed Person (Offshore) is a designated lifting operations specialist responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising all lifting operations on offshore installations such as platforms, FPSOs, rigs, and marine vessels.
Role and Responsibilities

Lift Planning — Prepare and approve offshore lifting plans including deck, subsea, and marine lifts

Risk Assessment — Account for wave motion, sea state, wind, and dynamic loading.

Equipment Certification — Verify pedestal cranes, knuckle booms, and offshore lifting gear are certified.

Supervision — Oversee all lifting on deck, near live equipment, and over water.

Marine Coordination — Coordinate lifts during vessel-to-platform cargo transfers.

Compliance — Ensure adherence to LOLER, IMCA, DNVGL, and NORSOK standards.

Documentation — Maintain offshore lifting registers, permits, and inspection records.

Stop Work Authority — Halt any unsafe lifting operation immediately.
