Job Description
A Planning Engineer is a technical professional responsible for developing, managing, and controlling project schedules, timelines, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Role and Responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling

• Develop detailed project schedules using tools like Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar software.

• Create Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and define project milestones.

• Establish baseline schedules and maintain updated progress schedules.
-

• Identify critical path activities and float/slack analysis.
-

Monitoring & Control
-
-
• Track actual progress against planned schedules.
-

• Analyze schedule variances and forecast completion dates.
-

• Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc progress reports.
-

• Monitor Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics (SPI, CPI, etc.).
-

Coordination & Communication
-

• Liaise with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors.
-

• Conduct planning meetings and schedule review sessions.
-

• Coordinate resource loading and manpower histograms.
-
-
• Interface with clients and stakeholders on schedule matters.
