Job Description
A professional responsible for planning, supervising, and ensuring the safety and quality of all lifting and rigging operations on site.
Responsibilities

Develop and review Lifting Plans and Rigging Studies for critical and non-critical lifts

Classify lifts (routine, complex, critical) and ensure appropriate controls are in place

Inspect and certify lifting equipment and accessories (cranes, slings, shackles, hooks, spreader bars)

Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as ASME B30, LEEA, BS 7121, and LOLER
-
Conduct pre-lift meetings and toolbox talks with crane operators and riggers

Verify crane load charts, ground bearing capacity, and outrigger pad calculations.

Monitor all lifting operations and intervene when unsafe conditions are observed.

Maintain lifting equipment registers, inspection records, and certification logs.

Review third-party inspection certificates for lifting gear and cranes.

Coordinate with HSE, civil, and construction teams during lift execution.

Investigate lifting-related incidents and near-misses and prepare reports.

Compile and maintain lifting documentation and final records.
