Responsibilities

• Supervise all lifting operations on site in accordance with approved lifting plans.

• Conduct pre-lift checks on cranes, rigging equipment, and accessories.

• Ensure all lifting gear is inspected, certified, and fit for use.

• Brief crane operators, riggers, and banksmen before each lift.

• Control exclusion zones and ensure unauthorized personnel are kept clear.

• Communicate with crane operators using standard hand signals or radio.

• Monitor ground conditions, weather, and environmental factors during lifts.

• Stop lifting operations immediately if unsafe conditions are observed.

• Ensure correct rigging configurations and load attachment methods are used.

• Maintain daily lifting logs and inspection checklists.

• Report incidents, near-misses, and equipment defects to the Lifting Engineer and HSE team.

• Coordinate with other site supervisors to plan and sequence lifts.
