Job Description
The Rigger Foreman supervises and coordinates all rigging and lifting operations on-site, ensuring safe, efficient, and code-compliant movement of heavy equipment, machinery, and materials using cranes and lifting gear. Leads a team of riggers and signalmen while working closely with crane operators and site engineers.
Responsibilities

Plan and supervise daily rigging and lifting activities as per lift plans and job requirements.

Review lift plans, load charts, and rigging drawings before execution; prepare or assist in preparing lift plans for critical/heavy lifts.

Select appropriate rigging gear (slings, shackles, chain blocks, spreader beams, wire ropes) based on load weight, dimensions, and lift geometry.

Inspect all rigging equipment and lifting gear before use; ensure certification/color-coding is valid and tag out defective gear.

Supervise riggers and signalmen during lifting operations, ensuring correct sling angles, load balance, and center of gravity.

Coordinate with crane operators, banksman, and site supervisors for safe execution of lifts.

Ensure full compliance with HSE standards and lifting regulations; conduct toolbox talks and JSA/risk assessments before critical lifts.

Identify and control exclusion zones during lifting operations.

Maintain records of lifting gear inspections, lift plans, and permits (Permit to Work / Lift Permit).

Train and mentor riggers/signalmen on rigging techniques and safety practices.

Report any incidents, near-misses, or equipment defects immediately.

Coordinate with maintenance team for gear certification and replacement schedules.

Requirements:

ITI/Trade certificate in Rigging or equivalent; NEBOSH/rigging safety certification preferred.

Minimum 5–8 years' experience in rigging, with at least 2–3 years as Rigger Foreman/Lead Rigger.

GCC/Gulf experience preferred (Oil & Gas, Construction, or Industrial projects — ARAMCO/ADNOC/Qatar Energy exposure a plus).

Third-party certification in rigging/lifting (e.g., from an accredited body) often required.

Strong knowledge of load charts, sling angle calculations, and lifting gear inspection.

Good communication and team supervision skills.

Physically fit; comfortable working at heights and in industrial/construction environments.

Valid transferable iqama/visa (if applicable) or ready to relocate.
